Parma Women Bolster Roster with Trio of Experienced Signings

Serie A

Parma, Italy – Parma Calcio Femminile is making significant moves to strengthen its squad ahead of the challenging demands of the next Serie A season. The club officially announced the arrival of three new players today, bringing a mix of international experience and diverse backgrounds to the team.

Reinforcing the defensive line is French full-back Hawa Cissoko. Born in 1997, Cissoko joins Parma after a season with Roma, where she made 15 appearances, contributing one goal. Her career boasts considerable experience across various leagues, including a notable spell in England with West Ham United, where she accumulated 58 appearances and scored two goals over three seasons. Cissoko also developed her skills within the prestigious PSG academy and has played for other French clubs such as Marseille and Soyaux before her move to Italy. Her arrival is expected to add solidity and versatility to Parma`s defense.

The attacking third receives a dual boost with the signings of Austrian forward Viktoria Pinther and Spanish forward Marta Cardona. Pinther, born in 1998, arrives from French side Dijon, where she had a productive season, netting seven goals in 20 appearances. Prior to her time in France, Pinther gained experience in Germany with clubs like Sand and Bayer Leverkusen, as well as a stint in Switzerland with Zurich. An established international, she has represented Austria 35 times, scoring two goals, indicating a pedigree on the international stage that Parma hopes will translate to goals in Serie A.

Joining Pinther in attack is Spain international Marta Cardona. Cardona has spent the last three seasons with Spanish powerhouse Atletico Madrid, following spells at other prominent clubs including Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, and Levante. Her signing adds another experienced forward with a strong background in one of Europe`s top leagues. Interestingly, Cardona becomes the fourth Spanish player to join the Gialloblù roster for the upcoming season, joining Bou, Esteve, and Dominguez. One might even begin to suspect Parma is assembling a small Iberian squadron in Emilia-Romagna.

These three additions underscore Parma Women`s ambition to compete effectively in the upcoming Serie A campaign, adding proven talent and valuable experience across key areas of the pitch.
