Naomi Osaka`s former coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, has once again shared his perspective on the subject of superstars within women`s tennis.
Mouratoglou emphasized the notable distinction between a top-tier player who displays outstanding tennis and a genuine superstar. He reiterated his point that contemporary women`s tennis appears to be lacking in true superstars. According to him, Coco Gauff is currently the single superstar in the women`s game. He attributes this status to her “aura,” which he believes is more potent than anyone else`s.
He clarified his previous comments, stating that he did not intend to suggest that future superstars would never emerge. Rather, his remarks were meant to highlight the difference compared to past eras in women`s tennis that featured major superstars like Serena Williams, Venus Williams, and Maria Sharapova.
