Paula Badosa Advances to Strasbourg Quarterfinals

Sport news

World No. 10 Paula Badosa of Spain commented on reaching the quarterfinals of the clay court tournament in Strasbourg, France. In the second round, her opponent, Czech Marie Bouzková (world No. 50), retired from the match with the score at 3-3 in the first set.

The score was 3-3, but it was already a very long match, 40 minutes. With Marie, it`s always a battle. I`m very sorry for what happened to her. It was in the middle of the match, so it was unexpected.

I`m happy to be back after two months. It`s been a difficult path, so finally being back and getting minutes on court, I really appreciate it. I`m still very far from my level, but I hope I can reach it soon.

Badosa`s comments were quoted by the WTA press service.
