World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz addressed the fans after defeating Tommy Paul in the Roland Garros quarterfinals with a dominant 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 victory.
“I know you wanted to see more tennis,” the Spaniard said in an on-court interview. “I have to apologize for that. I was just doing my job.”
Notably, at 22 years and 20 days old, Alcaraz reached the semifinals of the Parisian tournament for the third consecutive time. Only Mats Wilander and Rafael Nadal achieved this feat at a younger age.
