Sinner’s Coach Responds to “Advantage” Claims About Jannik’s Break: “Let’s Not Joke”

Sport news

Simone Vagnozzi, coach of three-time Grand Slam champion and world number one Italian player Jannik Sinner, stated that he finds it hard to understand the opinions of experts who suggest that a break from competition could ultimately be an advantage for his player.

“I was surprised to read some statements, even from experts, about the possibility that this period of absence could ultimately become an advantage for Jannik… let`s not joke,” Vagnozzi was quoted as saying. “If that were the case, why didn`t anyone think of taking a break all this time?”

Jannik Sinner is expected to play his first match following his recent break in the second round of the Rome Masters tournament in Italy.
