Danny Welbeck has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson still contacts him after matches.
The 34-year-old Brighton player, who honed his skills at Manchester United, was nurtured under the guidance of the legendary Scottish manager.

Welbeck secured a Premier League title with Manchester United, but was transferred to Arsenal a year after Ferguson`s departure in 2013.
Leading up to this weekend`s FA Cup quarter-finals, the forward shared that his former coach, 83, reached out to him following his goal against Newcastle in the previous round.
In an interview with the BBC, Welbeck mentioned, “Sir Alex Ferguson actually called me after the Newcastle goal.”
“He spoke about the goal and my overall performance.”
“It`s great to maintain that connection. He`s a manager who consistently looks out for his players and wants the best for them. He continues to stay in touch even now.”
Welbeck`s excellent goal in extra time against Newcastle has set up the quarter-final match this Saturday between Brighton and Nottingham Forest.
The former England international has been effective this season for the South Coast team, scoring seven Premier League goals in just 17 starts.
His goal against Newcastle even prompted Wayne Rooney, his former teammate at Manchester United, to make a strong statement.

Rooney, Manchester United`s all-time top scorer, 39, commented, “Danny is fantastic to play alongside.”
“To be completely honest, I would still like to see him playing here, for Manchester United.”
“He has scored goals throughout his career. He faced injuries earlier in his career, but he seems to have overcome them and is having a brilliant season.”
Welbeck recently disclosed that he is part of a WhatsApp group with former Manchester United stars.
He told Sky Sports, “Everyone contributes. There`s a lot of banter, discussions about football, and plenty of jokes.”
When asked about who the group admin is, Welbeck responded, “I think it might be Rio Ferdinand.”
“He`s always chatting, isn`t he? You know how he is, he just talks and talks.”
“He enjoys it. He`s built a career around talking now, so… we give him a lot of stick too.”
