Sparring Partner: Darren Till Would ‘Eat Up’ Tommy Fury

Boxing news

An undefeated boxer who has sparred with Darren Till is confident that `The Gorilla` would decisively defeat Tommy Fury in a boxing match.

Till, a UFC veteran, and Fury, brother of the former heavyweight world champion, were originally scheduled to fight at Misfits 20 on January 18 in Manchester, UK.

However, Fury withdrew from the bout, citing concerns over Till`s threats to use kicks during the boxing match.

Instead, Darren Till fought Anthony Taylor, winning by TKO in the sixth round.

Matty Floyd Predicts a Win for Darren Till Over Tommy Fury

Matty Floyd, a determined boxer from Australia, believes Darren Till would dominate Tommy Fury. Floyd has gained recognition in boxing, including sparring with Lucas Browne and winning an Australian title.

Floyd recently traveled to the UK seeking a fight with Tommy Fury, even visiting gyms where Fury trained, but was unable to meet him.

However, Floyd had the opportunity to spar with Darren Till at the Rotunda boxing club in Liverpool. These sparring sessions convinced Floyd that Fury avoided the fight with Till because he knew he would be outmatched.

In an interview, Floyd stated, “I think Darren would’ve destroyed him. … now I know it’s because he knows he would’ve gotten eaten up. Mine and Darren’s sparring sessions have been sick.”

During his UK visit, Floyd aimed to compete at Misfits 21, but the event was cancelled. Nevertheless, Floyd competed in London on March 23, defeating three opponents in one night, signaling his readiness to face high-profile opponents like Fury, KSI, or Dillon Danis.

Matty Floyd`s Victory Over a Thai Boxing Legend

Beyond a potential fight with Fury, Floyd boasts a significant victory over Sirimongkhon Iamthuam, a former two-weight world champion from Thailand.

Their first match in Thailand ended controversially and was ruled a no contest. In a rematch in Turkey, Floyd secured a unanimous decision win despite a hand injury.

Floyd recounted, “I beat him every single round with a broken hand again… I wanted to show the world that I’m actually a good boxer too. I made sure I outboxed him every round.”
