Tyson Fury is reportedly stating that a date and location have been set for his third bout against Oleksandr Usyk, a surprising announcement given his recent declarations of retirement.
The renowned former heavyweight champion, a two-time titleholder, achieved significant success by winning numerous belts during his career. He famously won every available belt but never achieved undisputed status, losing both attempts to unify the division against Usyk in 2024.
Fury now suggests he will face the Ukrainian fighter again, potentially in the UK, following his controversial loss in Saudi Arabia. This potential comeback marks a rapid shift in stance, occurring just hours after he stated he was “fully done” with boxing in a Turkish interview.
Fury Indicates April 2026 for Usyk Trilogy
Taking to social media, Fury claimed this morning that he plans to fight Usyk next year, anticipating Usyk`s potential victory over Daniel Dubois this month. Fury had previously hinted that only a trilogy fight would tempt him out of retirement, and he now suggests this is the case.
The previous night, Saudi boxing official Turki Alalshikh had already indicated Fury`s return, seemingly targeting Usyk. The ex-champion has since shared details including a date, venue, and contact information for tickets via Instagram.
In his Instagram post, Fury wrote: “April 18 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy! UK. Contact @spencerbrownmrgoldstar for tickets.” He also posted a photo with Alalshikh, captioned “Let’s see what 2026 brings,” accompanied by dollar signs.
Additionally, he shared an image of a lavish mansion with the caption: “Massive thanks to my bro Turki for my new house.”
Just Yesterday, Fury Insisted He Was Retired
This potential reversal is surprising for many fans, especially considering Fury`s emphatic declarations of retirement in various interviews just a day prior. He had stated he was stepping away from the sport yet again after the second Usyk bout.
Only hours before his Instagram post, when questioned by reporters about a potential return, he asked, “What would I be coming back for? I’ve won every belt, haven’t I? So there’s not much to come back for.
He added, “Does the love of the sport overthrow my health? There you go then… You’ve got to worry about your health, your health is your wealth… It’s inevitable [that I’ll have issues later in life] with the fights I’ve had.”
