UFC fighter Chris Padilla endured a horrific cut during his UFC London fight against Jai Herbert, yet managed to secure a victory.

Despite being covered in blood from the injury, the American fighter won a split decision against British opponent Jai Herbert.

The severe cut above Padilla`s left eye was caused by an elbow strike from Herbert.

Padilla persevered and won the fight, but the gruesome injury shocked fans watching online.

One fan commented that the cut looked: “Looks like a shark bite.”

Another added: “Definitely going to have a nice little scar from that.”

One reaction stated: “Brutal! On the bright side, he won.”

Padilla described the injury, saying: “S***, I don`t know bro it just hurt like a b***h if you want me to be honest with you.”

He continued: “But it is what it is bro, like I always say I win by any means. If this was going to happen, s*** I would have taken one right across the face.”

Padilla added: “I would have still walked forward. I couldn`t see nothing out of my left eye there was blood pouring down.”

He concluded: “But I was ready to run that s*** up no matter what.”

The 29-year-old lightweight fighter, Padilla, now holds a 16-6 record and has won his last six fights.
