Sport news

World No. 20 Ugo Humbert has commented on his defeat to 18-year-old Joao Fonseca in the second round of the Miami Masters, where he lost 4-6, 3-6.

Humbert stated, “He played incredibly well. I rarely encounter players who operate at such a high tempo. I consider myself a fast player, but he is even quicker.”

He added, “I experienced similar feelings in my matches against Alcaraz at the Davis Cup and Sinner in Rome. He was ahead of me in every aspect and delivered a fantastic performance.”

“It was challenging for me. I fought until the end, but today he proved to be the stronger player,” Humbert was quoted by L`Equipe.
