WTA head Portia Archer has expressed her support for Ons Jabeur, who recently posted a message during Roland Garros highlighting the inequality between men`s and women`s tennis.
“Ons shared a very powerful message,” Archer stated. “I believe we will discuss this with the Grand Slams and other tournaments that, in our view, are not operating in a way that fans and the public desire. I urge the fans not to hold back. We will continue to champion and advance this cause. In my opinion, this issue exists at other tournaments too, not solely at the Grand Slams. Again, this isn`t a responsibility I`m delegating to a specific person; therefore, we will engage with all stakeholders on how to bring about change in this area.”
